I am quite an artistic person but I unfortunately for me my design talent ends with paint, I love learning new things though, I am amazed at some of the images that have been created from the sketches made! It's also nice to see people helping others and taking their time to do these things for free when I am sure that some designs would cost a fortune!

Do you mainly get designers and members asking for help here?

 

Well, I've seen some pretty impressive artwork created with good ol' Paint!

No way! Who would have thought you could do something like that with something as basic as paint!! Much better than my stick men ;-)

Sorry, I meant is it just designers and people looking for logo/website ideas or do you get novices looking for advice on how to create them themselves?

 

I know, right? When I sit down in front of Paint/Photoshop that's the level of amazing I imagine I'll be creating, but when I actually put pen to paper (or hand to mouse, if you like), well...

Anyway, we do have some very creative members who enjoy exploring the possibilities of design, but every great designer has to start somewhere, so we also have a section where beginners (and experts too! Sometimes you just need a push in the right direction) can ask more specific design questions. And once you've got your feet wet in the design pool, you can post your latest creations in the Reviews forum for other members' input. No matter how skilled you get, you can always learn some more from others

 

That's great, I'll definitely have a look around those links. I have an 11 year old who is thinking of studying graphic design at school so will be showing him around here too! When you request a logo design is it possible to request it from a particular member or do you just wait and hope someone will be kind enough to have a go at designing something?

 

@Laura Storey I can't wait to hear from your 11-year-old! As for requesting a logo design, I suppose you can request it from a particular member but there's no guarantee that that member will take it up. Does that answer your question?
