Legacy Football Logo customization

Hopefully someone can offer some assistance....

I have a logo already that I would like to customize a little more and make it more football (soccer) orientated.

My current logo is fairly bog-standard (http://www.nykto.com/NFC.jpg) I'd like to add some sort of football type shadow or outline in the background of it, or something to make it more football looking. I'll also make a note of my team kit, and if something can be added to make it resemble that in any way, that's also welcome (http://www.nykto.com/shirt.jpg) - I'm open to other ideas and appreciate any help.

The image is not allowed to exceed 15 kB. The maximum size is 125px in width and 150px in height

Stick to red and white theme (other colours welcome as long as it doesn't look too out of place).
