Legacy Football Badge Needed for Swindon United.

Hi all,

I am new to this site after doing a google search and I have a new football team starting for the 2011/12 season for the Swindon Sunday League.

We are in process of kit suppliers but are after having a club badge on our kits so want to get it right first time.

I can use photoshop for simple things like photos etc but cant grasp how to design own badge as quite a few elements in the design.

Is there anyone out there who can possibly help complete the design of our club badge?

I would be so grateful if someone can help.

I know roughly colours etc and design elements that I want in the badge so I need your replies as to what information you require for someone to take away and design it for us?

Am after a design quite quick so if someone can replay asap I would really appreciate it.

Information with regards to our team and fixtures and players etc

4) Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?
1) We play in England so would like a St. George’s cross.
2) We are going to be affiliated to the Wiltshire F.A. and have found out that the Great Bustard is the official emblem for Wiltshire, so would like this incorporated. Found this link for it – and looks kind of ‘olde’ – we don’t mind if the image is converted to negative:

4) Our team colours: We are sponsored by a company who has purple as there main colour and due to this our kit is going to be purple.– BUT would like black and yellow stripes included in our design as we played our first ever game in yellow and black striped shirts.

The general layout that I am thinking of is a shield type design and spilt into quarter (Barcelona) along with a banner possibly at the bottom too.

5) Requested size of your logo:
The badge will be used for web, our football kit and letterhead/emails.

Yellow black. Gold to give it an old feel but do understand may not be worth using due to the yellow. Maybe purple somewhere.

Pinks.

10) Describe the target audience for your logo
Football supporters

11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Meaning of our club

12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Largest place would be front of t-shirts and posters

13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
No

14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
Clear to the eye yet a kind of old look.

UPDATE - UPDATE

Thank you for your comments and also many thanks for anyone who is working on this request.

Can I be a pain and update the folowing points:

1) I will NOT be needing purple in the colour of badge sorry to be a pain.

2) Also is there anywhere we could have the the year we was formed put in somewhere ie. Est. 2011 (or similar to what other clubs may have on badge.

3) Would really like the St George cross somewhere. I know a mention of unbalancing design of mentioned but am happy for other colours to be added if it makes it balance out ie. blacks or red etc.

Wish I knew how to do it so I was not putting any of you people out.

You asked for my thoughts so they are as follows, (please dont think I am being picky).

1) banner underneath can it be more located mainly at bottom instead of on sides? More like liverpool fc banner.

2) the badge is going to be printed on purple shirts due to our sponsors so is it possible either different colour than red or for the badge to have an outline to break it away from the shirt colour we have?

3) Can the yellow stripes be of a more brighter yellow?

4) is the vertical line on st george flag off centre? Or just the way it looks?

Got to say you are doing a massively great job and looking forward to seeing the final outcome.

Once final design is done I will make a small donation to a charity of choice.

@Swindon United not to sound mean or anything here but when are you planning to help out around the forum in return of getting your logo made?

It is mentioned in the sticky post (before the questions) that you read and it does state:

It's only fair that we have to tell you this as other members have to do the same in order to have their logo made and you cannot be an exception.

Please have a look around and see where you can help out. Ideas are given in the quote above.

I will help out so will look around and see the forum and give advice etc where I can and look through various parts of the forum to see what input I can possibly give where needed.

No offence taken by the way and you didnt sound mean as understand people do put a lot of thought into design and especially time and they do it because of the love of it.

Will start looking through site very shortly.
