Hi all, I came across this site purely by luck.
I am an admin officer for a voluntary run girls football (soccer) club in the UK. We will be undergoing a kit change and now is the ideal opportunity to 'update' our current logo. The logo is to be used for web, clothing & stationary. Our original logo was done by myself some 7 years ago as a 'help, we need a logo' type thing. I'm not unfortunately very gifted when it comes to design as you will probably see by the website I have built for the club. http://www.meridiangirlsfc.co.uk

We are not in a posistion to pay a company for a logo design, but going by what I have seen here, you guys could make a fortune.

Our club colours are a standard red (not sure on pantone), white and navy blue and our badge looks like this..http://www.haydenfootball.co.uk/images/clubs2/meridianlogo1.jpg

We need to keep Meridian Girls FC but can drop the web address, but if possible incoporate Established 2002 or Est. 2002
Here are some designs I like, not sure why, perhaps because of the shape.

I have been in contact with our county council to find out the lagalities of using the prancing white horse of Kent, as long as their image of the horse isn't used there is no law on using the horse. We would like to include the horse if possible but not a do or die.

I do hope I have provided enough information.
I must inform you that any design will have to be put forward to our committee before any decision can be made whether to use it.

Many thanks for the help and eagerly await.

Umm..Does this mean any prancing horse image except theirs?

Yep, I know all about the old 'answering to the committee' thing.

Give me a few days to come up with something.

    Cheers

Hi there, and thanks for the fast response.

I inserted the Kent County Council logo to show their image of the white horse, and because of copyright, I know you can't just cut it out and use that one, but any white horse in the same 'position' would suffice.

I have actually drawn a horse using the KCC one but made some changes, would this be against copyright infringements? I will upload it, but need to install and FTP proggy first as it's sitting on my HDD, hopefully will give you some idea as to what I would like.

Again, thank you for the help.

Just uploaded horse... would this be any good as a base design?

What do you think of this particular horse?
as for colours...this blue seems close to your original logo, shall I use this shade?

Superb...but, could you also try it in white if possible.

    Thanks.

    Hi Covertpea

Sorry, I should have been a little clearer, as our kit is white, the horse pic i posted has a red outline, and as you know, white kit with white embroidery is a no no, so please accept my sincere apologies when I asked for the horse to be in white, i meant white with a red or blue outline.

    Is this suitable?
(image shown is smaller than original)

I'm liking that a lot. I will send the image to the club secretary before requesting the files just to get his thoughts.

    Thanks for your hard work.

    Hi CovertPea

    Sorry for the long absence.

Would there be any chance that you could post the files if you still have them. The club sec likes the design and would like to see what it looks like embroidered, and for this we will need the eps file.

Once again, many thanks for the superb work you put into the badge and all the other work you have done for this forum.

Unfortunately, your embroiderer will have to settle on either a jpg or a transparent png file.
If they can't do it without an eps or ai then you may have to find one that can.

Below is an extract from a company who does want you're after and as you can see by the last sentence, all they ask for is a jpg or similar.

Hi, have spoken with embroiderer and he basically said what you have put, may have to be re-drawn but with a small charge.

    Again, thanks for your help.
