Legacy Desperate Need for a Church Logo!

I've been frustrating myself like crazy trying to design a logo for the church I work for. It is the Roseville Church of Christ in Roseville, MI. The church's slogan is "Ordinary People Serving and Extraordinary God!" If you even have any ideas of suggestions that would be fantastic! I have been searching the web looking for ideas and trying new things, but I am not getting anywhere at the moment. Our church is small so we can't afford to have a professional do the work.
