    Help My Business!

    Hi everyone,

I have been here before and enjoyed the benefits of your creative talents with a football crest. (thanks CovertPea!!)

This time, and I am not sure if this is outside of the parameters of what you can do - but I am starting a business. I was going to have 3 partners to share investment - that has dropped to one. Me. So I am trying to design my logo and branding myself while minimising costs. The design of this logo will directly impact my website layout and scheme, as well as all my marketing material (and business card).

I am by no means a designer or graphic artist, but here is what I have in mind:

First of all, the company is called Project Communication.

    1) What is your website address: I don't have an address yet, but here is some Insight into the company (i am not trying to sell, but give a feel of the company, you will see why in the part 3):
The company is a training and consulting company (based in Asia - no design relevance) that develops systems and programs in the area of enhanced business communication. Like customer service, sales, presentation skills, team management etc etc. It's goal is to strengthen and streamline communication between 2 parties for increased understanding and better results.

My customers are mainly HR and senior management. So the logo needs to professional and simple. They are looking for ideas and solutions to problems they are experiencing, so they need to feel trust, confidence and at the same time, innovation and fresh approach.

    2) Description of your website:The website layout should be simple and clean. Not too many colours, and easy to see where you need to go. The logo should also reflect this. It is for that reason I think the logo should just be the words 'Project Communication'. I want to brand those words.

Project and Communication can be on 2 separate lines, and each in a different colour. These 2 colours will form the basis of the colour scheme for the website. the P and C can be in lower case maybe?? I am flexible and want to see ideas!

The difficult part is this: Should I integrate a symbol or abstract image into those words (either next to, behind or above)?? Or just have the words?

I want to also create a small/minimal version of the logo. Like just the 'P' and 'C' together with no other words.

    3) List 3 logo designs you really like & why:
Well, I don't want to infringe on copyright, but I can list some websites I really like:
Mission Talent Recruitment, nonprofit recruitment, NGO recruitment, UN recruitment - i like this one because the image with the words is relevant. It's mission is to find talent. So, amongst all the 'blue dots' we will find the talent (pink dot). It's simple and clean, but also powerful and relevant - and is also why i gave you the background of the company above.
Customer Service Training Program, Leadership Management Training, Consulting, Customer Relations Training - While I don't like the colours, i do like the way the words are types, and the way it fits with the dimensions of the logo. Id don't care for the logo image itself though.

    4) Requested size of your logo: I would appreciate different sizes. For website (larger and smaller). For marketing material - but also large and small of the minimal logo version.

    5)
Do you have any images/photos/clip art that can be used for the logo? I'm afraid not, although I hope to have something created myself by the end of the week.

    6)
Any colors you prefer? Again, colours aren't my thing. But they need to stand out and be fresh - without being to over the top and 'abstract'. Maintain professional and trust, whilst still saying unique and fresh solutions.

I hope this help and I appreciate any ideas. Please feel free to ask any questions!!

    Thanks in advance!!

    Thanks for the reply

    Thanks for responding Genuine.

I appreciate your design and I know my description was perhaps a little too long.

I think the font is a little to 'informal'/'comic' for what I am looking for. Also, now that I see the logo behind the words, i don't think that works. I think maybe to the left of the words, with the words being left justified.

Hopefully by Friday I can go to my mates house here in Shanghai and draw something up myself to help shed some light, but until then the only visual clues I can provide are the 2 links I provided in my initial post.

What I am looking for needs to be more needs to be more clean and...'clinical'. Simple and professional. Only containing 2 colours (one colour for each word) with a white background. The logo can also reflect those 2 colours.

I have been racking my brain trying to think of an abstract image that represents two parties communicating successfully. Maybe I should try and whip something up in word and paint...

    A Couple of Ideas

Ok, so I don't really have the tools (word, powerpoint and paint) but I tried to come up with a couple of ideas.

    DISCLAIMER

    1) I just picked the colours and fonts randomly - I would love to see different examples from a larger font library or better eye for colour combos.

    2) The logo is again just an idea and is open for new ideas and directions. it's not meant put a frame around your creativity! ;-)

    3) text position, capitalisation, logo position are all just ideas.

The logo: I wanted something that represents to people that can't currently communicate - and in the middle is common ground. I thought that by making the people the same colour as the word 'project' - it would symbolize them as being the project. The overlapping shape in the middle represents successful communication and is therefore coloured as such.

The other 2 I am just mixing with the colour combos - so I realise that I have switched the 'project' orange and the 'communication' aqua.

Any fresh or new ideas you have along those lines - or ways to streamline and the improve these would be greatly appreciated.

I think these logos are too bulky and imposing. If i could make them more modern and minimal - but with the same imagery it would be great.

I appreciate any contributions and creativity and new ideas are appreciated!

    Here they are:

Sorry CovertPea, I am the one seeking help!! I was just putting some up to try and give you guys (the pros) a bit more of an idea of what I'm looking for.

I didn't realise it was going to be so big!!

Thanks again genuine! That is getting much closer to what I'm looking for.

The font is much more 'professional' and I like the colour scheme and take on the 'communication' image.

I think that the only thing that jumps out at me is the 2 I's. They feel a little too...cartoony i guess. Is there a way to work in a logo without the giant I's. Also, do you think you can do anything with the box/diamond image i posted? Something to make it less bulky and 'i did this in paint' looking???

Thanks again Genuine! I appreciate you taking the time.

Oh yeah, and any tips on how to limit image size when creating things in word or powerpoint and then 'saving as image' would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi benjoee,

How about if I make the 2 I's in to normal ones and add that red communication graphic to it so that it's not so big and would represent both the word and what the business is about?
