Gosh you guys rock on here. I stumbled upon this forum on my journey to finding some ideas for logo design! I am so impressed!

I hope someone can rock my world with a edgy logo for my new business!

    1) What is your website address: www.jenniferdworek.com

    2) Description of your website:

It's actually a blogsite. I wanted to blog and have a place for people to see my stuff. It's pretty new and I don't have all the skills to get it the way I want it but I'm tryin'. I want the feel to be cool. I am trying to attract Seniors. I really like the feel of something that is Art Deco or Art Nouveau but with a contempory feel. At some point in time I had thought that maybe a vintage frame with a nail and hanger connected would somehow look cool.

    3) List 3 logo designs you really like & why:
www.culturepilot.com/images/portfolio/evoke-logo.jpg Cool Font and art maybe a little too busy though.
Maria Bernal Photography I saw this one on a previous post and I was immediately in love with it. I want something with my initals to be the art and perhaps my full name smaller and less noticeable.
www.designbyjenn.com/images/lawana.jpg These logos are pretty. I am just attracted to most all of them and I think it has to do more with her use of color.

    4) Requested size of your logo:
Well for starters I need something I could maybe use on my blogsite as well as use for watermarking my photos. Not really sure what size you would use for those things.
    5) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
    Nope.
    6) Any colors you prefer?
    I love the color purple!

Well, there ya go. I hope this hasn't confused you. Problem is I am really not set on anything. I like lots of stuff. I know when I see it if I'm gonna like it.

    Thanks in advance~!

I'll work up a couple of rough designs and post them here for your critique... I'm kind of at a loss for inspiration right now but I do have some other ideas I'd like to try (click image below for full-sized image):

    Yeah

I like that first one probably the best. I think because it is not as long as the others. Would rather it be purple than pink. I don't really care for the font of the full name. Too boxy for me. I do love the "photography" being small like that. Maybe you could add some kinda of flare to the initials. I want to use the initals as the primary logo for watermarking and business cards, etc...I kinda want the initals to be a design in itself.

It's so cool to see my name in a design. I would love to see more!

So do you want something more like the second logo you posted as compared to the first?

For a lack of better words in the first one and the logos someone looks at it and they see letters with the second logo you posted it's kind of like you have a design instead of letters (not really sure how to explain it so if this is confusing just ignore it haha...)

(Regardless I have some more ideas so sit tight)

I really like the last one above.
As for suggestions, you're on the right track as far as a good logo design goes. Simple and clean lines.

(but then, I'm not the one requesting the logo)

In response to your last post....Yes. I love the second example I posted. I just don't want to steal it. But if you could somehow make the "JD" the art part of the logo and keep the other stuff (jennifer dworek photography) there too. I think I like to because it has a classy, sexy, art deco feel to it. I do like that they also have a box around it to kinda make it a stamp.

I like where you are going with that last example but I am not lovin the roundness of the letters. Think of this "JD" as a classy, sexy, woman! Ha! What would she look like?

    There's some inspiration for ya!

Can I join? Or am I too late? Here's the design I created though :)

    Genuinegrafics,

It's not too late! Not really what I had in mind. Too much going on there. Simplify. I don't care for bubbly letters. This screams '80's to me. No offense. I am sure it is hard to get what someone is looking for. Check out the logo here Maria Bernal Photography
I love everything about this except it's not mine! Simply yet artsy.

See what you can come up with. Purple and black colors are what I would like to stick to.

    Thanks everyone. This is fun!

Hey Jenn is this more in the mold of what you're looking for in terms of the design for your initials?

    Hi :)

    How about this?

    Nets Force,

Yes. I like the "D" but not fond of the "J". I think I have rather dull initial to try to design. I tried drawing out a few things last night and didn't come up with anything. J and D are just boring letters! This is starting to get frustrating. I was researching Art Nouveua fonts because I am fond of the Arts and Crafts movement. Found some neat fonts and even more cool designs for the period. But I can't drawn to save my life.

GG, I kinda like what you have there. Not sure about the font. how would these look in B &W? If I needed to change the opacity for watermarking?

    You mean something like this?

    JD_Logo3(grayscale).png

    JD_Logo2(grayscale).png

BTW I can't copy the logo of Maria Bernal because that would be copyright so I'm just doing designs that I feel that are good and that suit your business. A simple logo would be right for your field but something funky and too technical wouldn't suit it.

I totally understand the whole copyright thing.
I do like the first logo without the oval.

  16. GG

Yeah honestly I like that more than the oval one because it's simple and also something like that does actually suit your field :)

Can you send me that in color and in B&W in a PSD format?

    Just a thought...

Do you use Photoshop? Since you are in the photography field and you want the .psd files i'm assuming you have the program?

    JennD New Member

yes, i do. I just figured that would be the easiest way to use them cause I can always convert them to JPEG or TIFF as needed. Are logos usually sent in other formats than the above mentioned? I know that I was told to use a vector based logo for marketing so I wouldn't lose any pixels but I don't have such a program.

Well logos can be in any format but vector format is good because you can stretch it up to billboard size and it won't pixilate the quality of the logo can still be seen but I am not with my computer at the moment so I don't have the files but i'll send you then in roughly 7-8 hours because that's when i'll be back home but a program that can create vector images is Adobe Illustrator..it's similar to photoshop in some ways but it's saved as a vector which means you won't loose the quality of the image. but i'll send the files when i'm home :)
