    Hi There,

I'm afraid I am completely new to designing either logos or websites and would be grateful for any help you may be able to give me.

    1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

The exact name is The Rugby Club of Saint Peter (with the second line of Il Rugby Club di San Pietro).

    2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?
The website address is www.rugbyclubofstpeter.com I am commencing the establishment of the site today and came across this site looking for templates originally.

    3) Description of your website or business:
We are a rugby club which has been recently established.

    4) Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?
A version is posted beneath (I'm not sure why, but the logo to the left of the script is there and can be pasted out - apologies but this is because I don't really know how to work this

    5) Requested size of your logo:
The logo would be used on shirts, website and stationery.

    6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
The below version was created using Clip Art and Paint. This is because I don't have much in the way of graphics knowledge. However this should form the basis of any design, although a more professionally created version would be much appreciated.

The Rugby Club of Saint Peter
Il Rugby Club di San Pietro

    7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
Text and Image – Includes text and images used in your logo..

    8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
Principal colours are red, royal blue and gold.

    9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
I'm happy to extend some artistic licence to the graphic artist. I really don't know much about graphic design and if you think there is an element that is missing, then please don't hesitate to make any suggestions.

    10) Describe the target audience for your logo
This logo is the kit badge and principal graphic for our club, so would be viewed by opposition and any potential sponsors we are able to approach in due course.

    11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
We are looking to convey a togetherness, using the colours outlined above. The cross, keys and rugby ball essentially convey our key aims. Principally, we would be very grateful if you could convert the rugby ball from an obvious rugby shape into a pair of dynamic "swooshes" which form a ball.

    12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
The logo would be used on the website, on shirts and on printed stationery, so it may need to be in high resolution.

    13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
    N/A.

    14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
Preferred font style is Imperator Small Caps.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and, as mentioned above, any assistance would be enormously appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Jon

Sorry, my fourth go at posting a response today because my internet keeps kicking me out.

Ishkey - many thanks for this, I think it looks great. However having raised it with the committee, they want to move away from the ball motif. I appreciate this is frustrating and can only apologise.

The proposal is for a shield shaped as attached. This would be golden with a black border.

Cross keys as before, with the one beginning on the left and finishing top right quadrant in silver, the other in gold. If these can slightly edge over the shield then should form 4 quadrants in the shield. Please can these quadrants be coloured alternately red and blue.

In the quadrants should be, clockwise, the letters of PRSC in golden font - I think SQPR font (dafont) looks quite good.

Sorry to mess you about - the badge you did looks great given the spec we asked for and I am genuinely grateful to you for turning this around so quickly and to such a high standard.

Looks like they want to go more classic.
Don't think your font choice is going to show up that well and will be a pain to make into a patch, unless you will be digitally printing the logo.
Here is SPQR (top) vs Deneane (below)

So what is the long version of "PRSC"

Now that is perfection, if the committee doesn't see the elegance and symbolism in what Forest has created then they are missing the boat.
Nice touch flipping the keys so as the cross is turned up.
Great idea of the red and blue placement, really allows for the letters to stand out and there size increased for a as you say, spot on visualization.
I'll be looking at this one for some time.

    Folks,

Feedback to date "wow", "amazing" "better than we could have hoped for". So all positive I am pleased to say.

Apologies for my typing but I had my eyes lasered this morning and using a computer is tough.

    Some requests:-

    1) Please can we swap the key colours over so the left one is silver and the right one gold?

    2) Please can you amend the font to the one suggested by Ishkey?

    3) Please can you amend the order of letters to:
    R
    P S
    C

(To answer the question it is RCSP in the order of crossing)

    4) Please can you change the colours to "Barecelona" red and blue?

Then I think you have created the perfect badge and made me very happy indeed. Many thanks indeed guys!

    Thanks Mr Ish.......

Jon, most of the changes are easily done all bar the font, reason you would not get the same effect as the keys and would IMPO not look right, but will do me best

Also the font 'Deneane' is a paid font (Mr Ish have you the file by any chance?)

I think Forest's font selection is the best. I just picked one that was more in the block style so to show the letters more pronounced than SPQR font.
Why would some one want another teams colors and not their own?
Then there is the question are those colors registered to "Barecelona"?
Still don't get the "RCSP" or was it "PRSC" unless it's Rugby Club San Pietro.

    Thanks 1970 Forest and Ishkey,

I understand re the font - we'd hate to step on anyone's toes, and it does look good.

Basically I think the best way of describing the colours were those of Barca - not sure if they are patented but the colours are very similar to those of the Swiss Guard which we are utilising.

The old "spectacles. test, wallet, watch" - in that direction, reads as RCSP which is both Rugby Club of St Peter and of San Pietro (dual language). This neatly avoids using both names and makes sense to our player base. I hope.

Massively appreciated, as per my earlier message. This logo is extremely welcome. Glad to say my eyes are impoving, I was crying all over my keyboard earlier so apologies for the terseness and any spelling errors.

Again thank you for your time, effort and expertise, none of which have been taken for granted. I feel an obligation to contrubute further so far as I can help and will do so.

    Kindest regards,

    Jon

    Hi Guys

Even in doors with sunglasses on that looks great.

Have raised it with the committee and thumbs up.

Please can we have a final copy to arrange kit order.

1970 Forest I will give some advice on laser surgery in due course.

At the moment I have strong feelings about it.

Again many thanks for you help, will chat soon.

    Jon.
