If a request comes in and they are to lazy to look around or read the sticky then why bother to remind them. It's a nice gesture but we have been down this road before.
I am sitting on two soccer crests right now and will be darned if I post them. "One said will do" (to help out) but only comes in to look to see if anything has been done. The other, everyone told just recently and claims he didn't know but still hasn't posted.
Ignore them and either they will figure it out or just go away.
Harsh - not really. Just a way for them to learn a bit of life's lessons.

Good plan :) It's a nice courtesy to remind them but it's also too much of a soft touch

Maybe leave a post saying "I got you're crest, but since you didnt bother helping out the forums, you aint getting them"

Is that too rude? (then again, them asking for logos and not helping out is just as rude)

I do remember forest posting a logo and then after, telling the lad sorry you couldn't be bothered to help so no logo.

It sounds harsh but worked for a while, also remember posting a design plastered with my watermark on it and the requestee rather than saying thanks, downloaded it as a jpeg and posted it with watermark still on it (Mr Ish some how found the site) and to this day is still there, I'm FAMOUS!!!!!

    LOL, i guess thats kinda a win-win.

But seriously? With the watermark? No "thanks"?

Some people just don't appreciate the work you guys do......

I do think you offer a unique service to all and agree that you should read the stickys first before requests are made for help but on gentle nudge should b enough and no more!

Is there anyway people could make a contribution to your website for any logos that you guys design as a way of saying thanks or should people have a minimum amount of useful posts to other users before consideration to a request is honoured?

This has been a long running issue, and as per the saying One should GIVE before they get,

Considering that a logo would cost anywhere from £60/$100 upwards, it winds designers up no end that people do not read the 'Sticky's' and then start asking why their request has not been met, and even start to ask for 3 or more designs so they can compare!!!

Ishkey is now saying 'do not even waste our time answer someone who does not post properly' or point them in that direction or help out first, and just concentrate on those who follow the rules.

There is no minimum requirement to how many times they do help others, the designers will judge for themselves if they want to help

Ok, thats fair enough and i agree that people should help each other out, after all we are trying to achieve the same goal in providing for the community and you designers are great, if not very over worked!

To help you guys out with requests, do you have a selection of blank templates that people could select from aswell as answering the questions? Maybe people could download them, experiment a little then return to you for some professional assistance in finalising the detail if necessary??

I totally understand why you guys get annoyed when people just expect to get a logo designed without any contribution from them and that includes myself and I hope to start making meaningful contribution to the forum.

Let's put this one to bed pls!!!!!

ALL we ask and have ever asked (speaking for the designers) we will gladly help ANYONE prepared and who prove they try to help others, we know most can not/do not have the design programmes so website reviews are by far the best place to start....pls note "nice site" replies do not count as help, I say this as 1 requestee posted "Nice site" on 10 different reviews in the space of 3 minutes (did they really think we are idiots?)
As a MOD and others in the Elite Group do talk to decide on a minimum we hope to get back from each requestee, but for us to constantly direct people to the Stickys is beyond belief, as on the forum it clearly states 'READ BEFORE YOU REQUEST' So to round this thread off (I hope) do this or threads we be locked and not fulfilled.....Simples!!!!
