Legacy Versova Village Boys FC - Request for a Crest

Hi All,

This is a great site and you guys are doing an excellent job.

I am part of the Versova Village Boys, a football club based out of Mumbai and we play in the third tier of the Mumbai Football League. The club was formed in 1982 but has now fallen on hard times so I'm trying to help out by creating a website and also help the club build up their brand so that it doesn't become extinct.

I'm aware of the rules and will start to review sites and help out in any other way I can.

1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Versova Village Boys FC
Estd 1982.

Would like to convey that the club has existed for a long time on the crest.

2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?
Am still working on the website and nothing is ready as yet.

3) Description of your website or business:
Football Club

4) Have you found any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?
I would like a shield type of a crest. Versova is originally a fishing village (though now has a lot of posh Bollywood residents) so would like to have a fishing boat/ fisherman as the central theme.

The 19th century coat of arms for Mumbai (link given below) has both fishing boats and a lion. Would like to use both for the crest. Would like to replace the lion inside the shield with a classic football (like the one used for Barcelona FC).

8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
The primary jersey colour is Navy with different trims (yellow,red). There is an alternate jersey which will be Yellow, Red with Navy trims. So would like colours which do not clash with the primary colour of the jerseys. Could do two versions one that doesn't clash with dark colours and one which doesnt clash with light colours.

9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
Anything that doesnt clash with the primary colours.

10) Describe the target audience for your logo
Players, Children, Local community.

11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Convey a sense of history, engage the local community

12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Print on Jerseys, Flyers and Website

13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
NA

14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
Would leave this to the designer

Looking great till now..

Would like to see a change in colour if possible... I'm attaching a pic of the team so you can get an idea of the jersey colour and use colours that won't clash.

Also would like to use the red lion on top of the Bombay 19th century colours. You see that lion used in a lot of places in Bombay and is also on the Mumbai Cricket Association logo.

The ship is looking great. Thanks for doing this.

Could you also share the version with the background as well? Could you change the white and blue background to yellow and blue. It looks nice with that as well and might use this version for a flag.
