Hi all, I am a photographer and I build this website using wix. I want to get away from them possibly before too long and go with bigblackbag or bludomain but I am doing about 15 sessions a month currently and i want to wait till i reach the 20-25 mark before I get something more elaborate. What i need is to get some feedback on the one i currently have and make sure it seems appealing to you guys at least till i can upgrade to a better one.. Thanks in advance!!!

I'm not much of a reviewer, I only know what I like and don't like.

    Firstly, the flash. :(

Finally loaded for me for what seemed about 5 minutes.
(yep, I detest flash sites, 'specially when on an opening page)

To be honest, if I was looking for a photographer I'd by-pass your site as I'm an impatient old broad and I want to see stuff immediately.
For the sake of this 'review' and as I also wanted to check out your work I did hang around. Very nice!
Once again though, the flow from pic to pic was occasionally interupted while the flash continued to load.
Your work deserves a better show.

WOW!!! that sucks... I had no idea that it was taking so long for it to load on other ppls computers.. (bit bummer) But thanks for the words about my work!!! I think im about to go to a different service that offers the same design layouts (slideshows etc) but with no flash.. HTML5 I think... Thanks again M8

First - having to download a flash player is a putoff
Second - this site has many templates (free) why not use one of them
then you can use your flash for a photo album of your pictures
Remember, your goal is to display your talents and pictures
The better you can do that, the better the sight will do its purpose
    "Increase business"
All a website does is advertise something (a product, a service, information, etc.) The better it does that, the better its purpose.
    Look at this site
Web Design Portfolio & Guide - Web Designers - Newark1
fast loading and displays the sites talents
Look at this slide show maker and the examples
fast loading and some examples are great
AnvSoft Flash Slide Show Maker - free slide show making software with cool effects
Your goal is to show your photos and your abilities the best
How you do that and what you use to do that will depend on the success of the site.
    hope this helps

Since your site is running entirely of flash there is no way the search engine can index your site. It will appear as a single page site.

I can help you to create a site using odCMS if you decide to follow navyfalcon's suggestion by using a template here. Currently the CMS will only provide a very basic Gallery function but if you willing to help we can improve this function by building additional features. Perhaps this can be shared with others here if they have the same need.

Half the site loaded quickly on my computer, but the <GO> button for wix.com loaded 10 secs faster than any of the buttons to actually click into your site. Good advertisement for wix, not so good for your site. The pictures are great, but if I was actually looking for a photographer I would not have stayed on this site. The slideshow is a cool feature, but as a visitor I dont like being 'held hostage' waiting for the next image. I'd much rather have something to scroll through or being able to click on thumbnails that I could spot as being similar to the type photos I am looking to get done. Just my 2 cents and personal preference. Quality job on your photos!

think you should get rid of all the wix ads and maybe the music.. took ages to look through your pictures (which are excellent by the way) but overall good site you have there

these are great reviews folks!!! and thanks for the good words about my photos.. I know im in a predicament about the flash and all.. but wix was the only site that really LOOKED great for my photos that i could get for free (for a while) But i honestly didnt know going into it that my site would be so slow.. See on my computer and friends of mine's computers, it pulls up fine but im not taking considerations for quite a few things.. First. My computer has almost 5gb of ram and a quad processor.. Plus 20 mb DSL.. and my friends are close to the same.. (notice i said close lol) but ppl with slower computers, with dial up (grrrr lol), and or both, would have some major problems viewing. I love the way bludomain sites look and it seems to be the standard for most photographers.. Im honestly kinda stuck with free everything (just for now tho) until i get come greens built up that i can invest.. But feel free to continue ideas because ALL of these suggestions have been profoundly helpful!!! Thanks alot -Ricky

I think you have a misconception or was misinformed.
1st. There are many free programs (HTML Editors) that you can use to build a website.
2nd. There are many free photo editors
3rd. There are many free photo albums
4th. There are many free CSS Templates
5th. There are many free menus
Most important - Get rid of as much flash as you can - use it only for enhancements
Your Goal is to advertise your abilities (which are good, by the way) but you
need the site to do that and not load so slooooww.
    To meet your needs
1st. Get a "Free CSS Template" and modify it to suit your needs
2nd. Use either the CSS menu that came with it or use your own
(can be CSS dropdown [top horizontal]- CSS flyout [side vertical] or many other types)
    Below are some examples:
Dynamic Drive CSS Library- Practical CSS codes and examples
30 Free CSS Based Navigation Menus | cssJuice
Pure CSS Menu.com : Free CSS Drop Down Menu Generator
CSS Menu Builder | Free online navigation generator
    IzzyMenu - Online Menu Builder
    -- --
The one I like and use (its FREE)
    CSS Menu Generator
    Free photo album generator
    That should help
I will give more suggestions later
    hope this helps

Sorry RRP, I'm gonna have to agree with what has already been posted.
Flash should be re-named 'yawn', the site itself does your pic's no justice.

I've seen a few websites over here where the pic's scoll along (similar to e-bay type)

I take it that your pic in the avatar is you pondering on how quick to get rid of the website???? Sorry again to be harse.

Keep up the good work though mate

They still have several "FREE" sites
and some of the forum members will assist (or help) you
first determine what you need or want
then look at free css templates and how you want to modify them
You can select items from several and modify them to obtain a
    special template
select several pictures for a slide show
try different slide shows and select your preference.
try different menus and select the one you like the best
sometimes "FREE" can be better than you think
I can help with SEO and web page analyzers
    Then add analytics (traffic analyzers)
You can later change to a paid site if you still want to
You can get Google page one with "FREE"
example: for my webpage title, I am Google page one, item one
and I use "FREE" software to build my webpage
    hope this helps

My only comment is that your site seems too loaded that it's loading in a slow pace. But the overall design was just great.
