SALES TAX HOLIDAY in illinois :D

    HEY ILLINOIS people,

    Illinois is having it's first ever sales tax holiday on clothing (priced under $100) and school supplies from August 6 - August 15th.

    That means that that you will not have to pay the 5% IL sales tax on qualified items, but you do still have to pay the local sales tax. For example, Chicago has a 9.75% rate so for the 10 days of the State Sales Tax Holiday you will only pay the 4.75% local (Cook County & Chicago) sales tax rate.


    I plan on doing allll of my dorm and clothes shopping then. You should too :D
