My question is how do you set up your meta tags so that when your #1 on the list it displays other page links under the discription. Does it even involve Meta tags?

    Thanks,

As far as I know it doesn’t involve Meta tags. I recommend you to read about Query Deserves Diversity and Query Deserves Freshness. Google knows a lot and we just have to know what to search for. Now you know ))) So read and find out.

    Thanks Emily for the info!
That's right, meta tags have nothing to do with this. The main point here is to build the site structure correctly and make all pages inside relevant to each other. It's a hard and diligent work.

you have to earn that spot in the number 1 listings and have your internal links displayed. Usually the pages with Trusted Rank of high importance have them, like Apple, MSN, YAhoo and NY Times

What you're talking about is sitelinks. Google will index your metadata but will only show your meta description if it can't find more relevant data on the page for the search query. I don't really bother to much with meta data these days. In order to guide google so it knows which pages to show as sitelinks you have to have a clean menu structure and they will start showing in the search results. Meta tags are more important to rank different keywords for a website.

SEO refers to search engine optimization, or the process of optimizing a website in order to make it easy to find via search engines like Google.

HTML has the following tag <meta name="description" content="XXXXXXX">
You may try to put your description with links into the content field. Text works fine. I'm not sure how google treats links in this block.
