    free forums

myfreeforum.org may be worth a try.;)

the question is, why are they doing it free? They must expect to make more from the ads than your bandwidth will use; so maybe it's better to host your own?

phpbb.com or invisionfree.com are your best bets. I'm such a n00b and you have to download phpbb and edit stuff, so I just use InvisionFree :).

The following are free downloadable forums: (source: used them before)
    1. http://phpbb.com
    2. http://www.simplemachines.org

The following are free forum hosters: (source: google.com/se...)
    1. http://invisionfree.com
    2. http://forumhoster.com
    3. http://yy2.com
    4. http://jconserv.net
    5. http://myfreebulletinboard.com
    6. http://bbfree.com

If you'd like to host on your own server instead of using InvisionFree. I would gladly set up your forum to how you would like it. If you'd like me to please email me at: kingriku@gmail.com

In my very unprofessional opinion LOL i would have to say that Forumotion.com would have to be one of, if not the best free forum hosting providers i have seen and been involved with, and i have been with a few that don't com-pair. There is virtually no downtime and very few server issues that i can complain about.

With my experience of free forum hosts, (Invision for) .forumotion.com has almost just seemed to outdo them all.

www.proboards.com i think is the best. You can edit it anyway you want. You can have hidden boards for admin only or just for members. Can also edit the layout. Also if anything happens to the board i.e. get locked out of admin(happened to me before) then you go to there support board and get help on troubleshooting.

an example of a website is
http://support.proboards.com/ default look when you first get it.
